At the brushup rehearsal last night, the cast made a discovery. It seems that there was a bit of tension in our portrayals. The nice relaxed atmosphere of the non-consequential run-thru produced an interesting and desirable improvement in the piece. Pace and delivery had a very nice, natural feel.

The cast knows the play, that is a given. Taking on a more carefree attitude gave the play a breezier quality which I really liked. It seems it may have been wound too tightly at times. It seems it is more fun than we thought it was. I only hope the cast can find this feeling today as we start our second weekend of three.

I think it is time for Stella Adler’s axiom: “Don’t act…Behave!”
